Starting with a new domain ?

If you already have an existing domain that has some age to it, then you don't have to think about a new domain.

If, however, you are creating a new site, it is best take into acccount Google's philosophy.

1. Words in the name.

In the old days, webmasters would register a domain using the words that were going to be the main search term,
e.g. "small blue widgets" would become www.small-blue-widgets.com

This should be avoided at all costs.

Even if the company is called Precision Widgets, don't fall into the trap of creating a split word domain
e.g. www.precision-widgets.com, but www.precisionwidgets.com is fine.

2. Dot com or country codes ?

If you are aiming at visitors from a specific country, then we suggest that you register your domain name as, e.g
www.name.co.uk
www.name.es
www.name.de
